A Bachelor of Science in Network Security or Technology Forensics.
A UAT degree in Net Security or Computer Forensics means that you will graduate with a blend of skills in
application development, programming and network engineering from an NSA-recognized institution.
Training in Computer Warfare
These specialties are NOT just about learning network
administration. It's about learning computer warfare techniques. You will
hunt down and deter cybercrime that plagues corporations such as viruses, worms, identity and
data theft, hacking, cracking and invasion of privacy, or help discover security vulnerabilities in networks.
A Bachelor of Science in Network Security or Technology Forensics from UAT means you will have the training to secure and protect networks from hackers, viruses and cyber crimes. Security essentials, intrusion detection, incident handling, firewall and perimeter protection and operating system security are some of the challenges that will be covered in class. Graduates will have the confidence to handle web and network security exploits, network traffic analysis, cryptography and encryption.
Network Security Curriculum is Certified by the NSA
In Fall 2004, The University of Advancing Technology became the first university in Arizona to be
certified for its network security curricula by the National Security Agency. In spring 2005, the
University was recognized along with other certification recipients at the CNSS Annual Conference.
The NSA's Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) sets standards of excellence for information
assurance and security in academia, private industry and government.
NSA-Certified Courseware: The Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) certifies that UAT meets all of the requirements of a specific CNSS standard within its courseware. The IACE Program is currently managed by the National Information Assurance Education and Training Program Office within the Information Assurance Directorate at NSA. UAT meets the minimum national training and education standards for the duties and responsibilities of Information Systems Security, Senior Systems Managers, System Administrators and Information Systems Security Officers.
